So I know this blog post is well over due BUT I just got sent the images from the amazing photographer John so I wanted to keep it until then
As most of you know back in September I had the pleasure of working over the in the lovely land of Florence Italy to beautify Lisa and her bridal party for her big day.
I have worked with Lisa once or twice for different events within TV3 such as an awards ceremony or the IFTAs etc. However, being asked to travel abroad to beautify someone is a whole different ball game and it was fantastic!
I don’t think I will ever attend a wedding like it again like it – from the views, to the castle, to the spread on the day it was just beautiful!
Anyway I know a lot of you are eager to know all about the most important part…the makeup! (just kidding:) ) but here are some of the essentials we used and how it turned out!
So the morning of I travelled up the mountains to an amazing villa (near the suite that Kim and Kanye stayed in apparently!) with David who did the hair. I had herself, bridesmaids and auntie to doll up ahead of the busy day ,they were lovely lovely girls and we had a great morning! ;
Lots of bubbly, girly chats and fun! <3
The theme was quite similar to most weddings – neutral tones, glowing skins and flawless bases. I wanted to enhance their features individually yet appropriately given we were in the warm Italian climate! Here’s a look at one of the bridesmaids up-close;
Naturally Lisa was my main focus so we really took our time perfecting her look. I have to say Lisa is by no means a fussy client – at the trial we did a run through and she had nothing she wanted to change, haha! She obviously knew I have done a lot of weddings in the past but I know we felt comfortable together the morning of so it was stress free!
Lisa has the most amazing features to work on which is evident in all the photos!
The one product that people have been hounding me about is the Balm EU’s Mary-Loumanizer Highlighter which features a lot in their makeup looks it looks so beautiful on!! Here it is along the cheekbones;
Of course we hadn’t applied any lip products yet at this stage but for her base I applied;
Smashbox Photofinish Primer, Studio Fix Fluid MAC Foundation, MakeUp Forever HD Powder, Kiko Matte Bronze shade 100 (amazing brand, can;t wait for it to come to Ireland!) along with Mary-Loumanizer. She looked radiant and flawless – exactly what I was after!
The eyes as seen in the picture above were a blended mix of a champagne shimmer base – All That Glitters from MAC with Brown Down and Texture blended into the edges and Ingot Gel Liner no.77 to define the eye. Lisa had her semi-permanent lashes applied by Pamela Laird in advance of the wedding so I just added one or two individual lashes into the corners to create a more fluttery effect
I defined her brows using Anastasia Beverly Hill’s dip brow in Chocolate – it lasted the entire day – the whole makeup did, they really are such trustworthy products!!
So then onto the lips and the finished look was revealed;
We went for a coral-ly shade from Make-Up Forever which was such a beautiful contrast to her dark hair and really complimented the warm makeup look on her. This was the main area I had to touch up over the day!
And there you have the makeup essentials! Ta-Dah !! ;
The day itself ran so smoothly and the venue was just spectacular!
Here are some other pics as a sneak peek;
So there you have the ins and outs of her makeup look. A lot of the wedding pictures were released in VIP magazine but I wanted to keep these exclusive shots of the morning until now :)) Selfish makeup artist
I hope you liked the makeup – its always great to hear your feedback!
